Biography
Stephanie Cowen is the Mass Tort Administrator and Senior Litigation Paralegal at Paulos Law, bringing more than 15 years of experience in complex litigation, including defective products, wrongful death, toxic torts, and mass tort administration. Her background also spans workers' compensation, probate and estates, and business transactions, giving her a broad and comprehensive understanding of the civil legal landscape. For the past 13 years, she has focused primarily on defective products litigation, developing deep subject-matter expertise and an exceptional command of high-volume, high-stakes case management.
At Paulos Law, Stephanie plays a central role in advancing the firm's most complex matters. She conducts legal research, prepares critical case documents, maintains detailed litigation files, and assists the Attorney with case intake, investigations, and client support throughout the litigation process. She oversees and trains junior paralegals, manages large-scale eDiscovery and litigation support teams, and supervises workflow autonomously to ensure accuracy and momentum on every file.
Stephanie designs and implements complex litigation support systems and independently resolves advanced procedural issues across multidistrict and multi-party cases. She participates in strategy meetings, contributes recommendations on case management and discovery planning, and exercises seasoned judgment in organizing evidence for high-stakes litigation. Her ability to manage intricate workflows while supporting strategic decision-making makes her an essential asset to Paulos Law's litigation operations.
Stephanie earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law and her Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of West Florida, where she focused her graduate studies on Public Administration and Government Contracts—foundations that continue to inform her structured, analytical approach to complex civil matters.
Stephanie is the proud daughter of U.S. Air Force veterans. Her mother, a retired Master Sergeant, and her father, a retired Chief Master Sergeant, each continued their service as Department of Defense civilians for nearly two decades. Their commitment to leadership and duty profoundly shaped Stephanie's own values and work ethic.
Before entering the legal profession, Stephanie served as a Department of Defense civilian in a managerial role with the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and the Real-Time Automated Personnel Identification System (RAPIDS) at the 81st Mission Support Squadron / Military Personnel Flight (81 MSS/DPMPS) at Keesler Air Force Base. In that role, she managed personnel records for enlisted, officer, and reserve members and their families, and collaborated regularly with the Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG), the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services during naturalization processes. This foundation in military administrative operations continues to inform her precision, discipline, and leadership at Paulos Law.
